Sugar

April 9th 1989  -  January 23rd 2009

On January 23, 2009 we said farewell to Sugar just a few months short of her 20^th birthday.  Sugar had a very full life with many of ups and downs throughout the years.  As for her part in my life, well we all know how the life of a teenager can change drastically.  I found in my life where friends, family, and others that I had loved would come and go, but the one thing that was always my constant companion, friend, and family was Sugar.  She was with me from the age of 13 until 31 giving me unconditional love regardless of what I would say or do.  For that I thank you.

 I will miss you old friend.

If it should be that I grow weak,
and pain should keep me from my sleep,
then you must do what must be done,
for this last battle cannot be won.

You will be sad, I understand,
don't let your grief then stay your hand.
For this day more than all the rest,
your love for me must stay the test.

We've had so many happy years,
what is to come can hold no fears,
you'd not want me to suffer so,
the time has come, please let me go.

Take me where my need they'll tend,
and please stay with me until the end.
